Might want to pick your seatmates carefully if taking the bus as Tim McLean learned when he was decapitated by a crazed passenger. updates here picked by meggysue 1 year ago

If you watch the video of the description... while morbidly fascinating in a sick and strange way...

that's someones brother/father/child/husband/uncle (the victim)

I'd be horrified to hear that recount. I sort of wish they hadn't aired it.

If ever there was a reason to stop the bus, this was it.

I definitely laughed when I read the title of the article. Then I read the rest of the article and didn't laugh anymore. F**kin' sick.

This is all over the news here. I'm so glad I'm not taking the bus to Winnipeg tomorrow (fly instead, it's also faster).

I honestly thought to myself hey, it would be kinda cool to ride the bus, see the country, see the people.

And then I read this story.

My mom, sister and I took a bus trip when I was a kid. I was sitting in the back seat (more room) and my mom/sis were in front of me. A drunk sat in the back seat too and eventually passed out with his head on my shoulder. I don't know if Mom didn't realize or what but she didn't rescue me for what seemed like forever. It was traumatic.

Had this occurred in the US, you'd probably be hearing calls for TSA style screening of bus passengers.

As a kid, I took a greyhound bus ride from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. ...filth, dysfunction, and mental anguish all the way.

That ride made such a negative impression on me that even today, I would NEVER ride a greyhound bus anywhere, for any reason.

...and for the record, everyone arrived in D.C. with thier heads attached.

As was yours. And what was that stain on your left breast pocket?

Anyway, I left my number in your back pocket. Call me?

I want to send condolences to the parents, is it possible to track down how to do that? I have an 18-year old who takes the greyhound twice a year to visit his dad. I can't comprehend what they must be feeling.

By tomorrow the victim's name should have been released, and probably where they were from. Good luck with your quest.

There is a lot of questions being raised right now about security, but it's such a tough call.

Would the guy have been saved if there was a security check? Yes. But chances are this maniac who murdered him would have just selected a victim somewhere else.

It would be incredibly hard to implement TSA like security because so many of the bus stops in rural areas are little more than a bench in a gas station. It would drive up the ticket of a bus ticket to a point that it would no longer be a cheap option for people.

Things like this can't be predicted. As for flying...I'd like to see statistically the percentage of people killed in airplane incidents vs. Greyhound incidents per year.

yet some dark side of me finds this story fascinating especially the description of how he showed no emotion while the killer was stabbing his victim. It's the same reason I find serial killers fascinating.

We all have a dark side. As long as you don't BECOME one, that's the important thing.

i wonder if it was a test run for a present-day MKUltra kind of thing....

After reading the article, this was the only rational explanation I could come up with. Not that there has to be anything rational about it.

On another source they said the killer was upset because the kid next to him was listening to his headphones too loud.
