Underground city found in Leavenworth, Kansas
Some Leavenworth residents have been unknowingly walking around above an underground city, and no one seems to know who created it or why. picked by AfroMosHi 1 year ago

Maybe its similar to Seattle's underground city.

I went on this tour a couple of years ago. Pretty cool.

Since there was signs of brewery's down there, the tunnels were probably used extensively during the prohibition era in the early 1900's.

The Discovery Channel had a series on underground cities that was fascinating. They toured different discoveries around the world week after week and took a historian with them who brought the sites to life.

The past is fascinating for the secrets it holds... who know? what lies.... beneath.....

Man, I'd really like to discover a place like that.

It's surprising where you can find history, the building my mom works in looks like a regular building from the outside (due to renovations) but it's actually a saloon from the 1890's.

It has the original gilded ceiling, it's really cool. There's an old safe there too with some beautiful (faded) rose and gold pinstripe artwork on it.

Nail on the head. The people who wrote this article, and the people speculating are f**king idiots. "There were signs of breweries down there and places that appeared to be selling things, but we have no idea what they may have been selling."

You should go over there and personally slap each one of them on the back of the head.

By the way, if I ever find an underground city I will claim it in the name of plime.

BTW, if anyone is in Washington DC, there are caves beneath the Lincoln Memorial, available for tours by special arrangements.
