Bill was so unhappy about seeing his image on Google Street View that he went to the press and had it made into news. It could've just been left as one of those moments where someone stumbles across a funny picture but he wanted more than that. I'm sure he made some money in "selling" his disappointment.

It's not Googles fault that they capture things that people don't like, it's just a car driving down the street, taking photos and placing them online.

Their complaints could be made in private but the people doing it like to go to the press instead. That tells me everything I need to know.

It might not have been Bill who called the press. If you're "walking" around in street view, you get an approximate address of the place you're looking at. A local reporter would have no problem driving there and ringing the bell to find out if the man on the photograph is the same as the one living there.

That's why I'm giving him the benefit of doubt.

I have to say I fall on the side of "don't want to get photographed passed out by the side of the road? Don't pass out by the side of the road."

It's that same sort of rule as the one that says "If you don't want your eyebrows shaving off then don't get drunk and pass out in the company of people who will shave your eyebrows off."
