how unsportsman like. What a sore loser.
His ass should be banned from further competition in these games.

There also should be some other suitable punishment against him and/or his team until he writes a formal apology for his little temper tantrum.

They might not have come to that decision if he had behaved himself.

It is one thing to disagree with a call, it is another to take off your medal and drop it to the floor. There are plenty of others who would love to have an Olympic bronze medal around their neck. Give it to one of them, they probably deserve it more.

This quote says it all "I don't care about this medal. I wanted gold. This will be my last match. I wanted to take gold, so I consider this Olympics a failure".

What a baby.

I love this comment: "Too long, didn't read."
Is it really that long? I didn't think so.

Anyway, this is typical Swedish meat-head attitude. The Swedish really need to take some sportsmanship lessons from the Latvians.

And as far as him not deserving the medal, well, he did win it. So, he does deserve it. The olympics are not about who loses the most gracefully. If a guy wins a silver and chucks it into the crowd(or ocean) it doesn't mean that he didnt earn it. And frankly, if he had chosen to not accept it and give it to someone he beat instead THEY would NOT have deserved it. I realize sportmanship is an important part of athletics on many levels , but the Olympics is the top, and I can't imagine having to fake being happy or content in the way that some of the losers do.

^^ I would disagree. He is such a sore loser he deserves nothing. Both him and his entire team should face some sort of penalty.

The Olympics isn't just about who can run the fastest or whatever. It is also about sportsmanship.

This sort of behavior should never be accepted in any sporting event.

Do an investigation - at his expense.

If he wins the will note that he won the Gold but was disqualified for unsportsmanlike behavior.

being a good athlete does not allow you to be a total a*****e

Did you see the game?

The italian had half of his body out end the sweed just his arm and got a peanalty for it.

For me it's really obvious that the referee was bought.

I think it's good that he got the guts to protest against this.

The olympics is about best man wins not who pay most to win.

What he did was not a protest - it was a strop.

A suitable protest would have been to not take to the podium.

Throwing his toys out of the pram like that will just lead the world to think, rightly or wrongly, that his dose of steroids was too high.

Don't you get it? This guy's about to make his way into professional wrestling. And what better way than by having to be restrained from attacking the judges and throwing his medal on the mat. Flash forward two years to "McMahon!!! I'm through with taking orders from you! Let's finish this in the ring this Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!"
