«roarkmeister:It's a shame, because the only people that will probably go to this site are plimates. I suppose thats good though. Keeps the stupid annoying people on myspace and the smart annoying people on 4chan.
4chan does not exist anymore as of a couple of weeks ago. I am also a frequent user on another social site on that list and have noticed a sudden influx of stupidity with its new users since the closing of 4chan. They seem to be looking for new places to frequent. (i know I am relatively new to this site but I am not one of those damn 4chaners who are looking for a new place to pollute). Damn 4channers.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.

Rant finished.
Why don't they just start a new site? There's a board for when Plime is down, and it's hosted elsewhere. The 4chan people don't have to go to pre-existing forums to get their fix; they could just start a new one.

Um....4chan is still up and running....
It was hit hard with a DDOS from ebaumsworld, but it's back and functioning.
Has no one picked up on the irony that Plime is No.42 on a list of obscure sites and that list is on a site that no ones heard of?
The Web Knows PLIME is a Democratic ball rubbing LIBERAL DOUCHEBAG site. PLIME was ruined when the "COMMUNITY" allowed the "LIBERAL DOUCHES" to get a foothold( obtain self up voted high numbered KARMA ). Each worthless ( and there are only about 10 of these azzholes ) self important blog-less bloggers with nowhere else to spew their lame BVllsh1t, can feel comfortable that they have successfully killed this site. THE rest of the WEB KNOWS. Plime has been taken over by a couple of hand fulls of self up voted Liberals that DOWN vote anyone with a differing view contrary to the OBAMAIDIOCY they see as important. If you dare speak out against the Socialistic Liberal Agenda... expect to be down voted on PLIME. Plime is Biased.

Not that you'll actually come back and read this, since you seem to hate us so much, but I feel the need to say this anyways.
First and foremost, the reason that you were downvoted is because you were rude and abusive towards our community, not because you disagreed with our viewpoints.
Secondly, the phenomenon of a small elite cadre being the primary force on a community-moderated site, is far from new(http://www.slate.com/id/2184487/?from=rss). In this way, I find that the system that Plime employs is actually superior to other sites; by allowing a mere one-click system to deem if a user likes or dislikes material, it allows the newer or less active users the ability to participate as well. Not to mention, the karma system also lets the people who actually use the system, and the people who's opinions have been deemed important by the rest of the population, more say in the ratings of material. In fact, this is remarkably like a governmental system, vote for who agrees with you, that way they have more power, and hopefully, more of what you like will be upvoted by them, and as such be more accessible to you if you are merely a casual user (such as myself).
Now, as a more direct rebuttal, I've noticed a trend on Plime, which I appreciate, that people who are actually users of the system, tend to avoid things like abusive name-calling, and by-passing filters in order to swear at people. Also, I have on more than one occasion seen civil debate on Plime regarding topics that the majority of Plime users feel very strongly about.
That said, of course Plime is biased, what isn't? Users come to the site because they feel similar to the people who are making the decisions on the site. If any site was completely neutral (which I personally believe is completely impossible) no one would come to the site, which would make a pretty foolish site wouldn't it?
