Drug of Choice: Alcohol

Is your pilot flying high? Alcohol abuse among pilots has been a longtime concern of the FAA and the airline industry as a whole. Reports show that many pilots use alcohol as a way to cope with the job’s high stress and long hours.
First of all, how can there be a lot of stress in flying an airplane? Second, alcohol is probably the worst drug if you need to make long hours.
Conclusion: pilots are stupid (if they do use alcohol that is...don't want a bunch of angry pilots on my doorstep over this ofcourse)

Nicky666, they probably abuse alcohol cause of the stringent drug testing policies. They can't do anything else, really. Besides, there's probably a lot of downtime in airport hotels, and what are you going to do there, besides drink.

I've got a friend that's a pilot, and though he's always drank like a fish, he gave up other drugs when he became a pilot. Just too much of a risk.

I've also heard being a pilot is 98% boredom thrown in with about 2% sheer terror.
