They are wrong and we are right. I'm simply going to state a different set of facts than the ones that were used against us. I'm going to make a reference to the fact that the source I'm using is younger than the story of Jesus' resurrection, and ignore the fact that before these things were written by this author, the legends were written by the Egyptians, and before that passed on orally. And then I'm going to bring up some other instances of our adopting from other sources, and not only use that as evidence to refute the Osiris connection, but reverse them in a way to make each one more consistent with our theology.
It's called editorializing folks, now you don't even have to read the article!

Someone should change the picture to Buddy Christ.

The corelations between Christianity and some other competing religions are so obvious.

Not that it makes a big deal or anything.

I also like the part about how we are supposed to disregard anything in the old testement.

Thanks for this. It's too long to read right now but I'm sure I'll hunker down to it later.

They sure go to ridiculously great lengths to prove their point!

"I don't believe you."
"It's true... read this 1000-page article."
"Okay, whatever. I believe you."

You know what's weird? I recently discovered from a comment that harmsc12 is actually a male. For some reason I've thought he was a she for the last month or so. Nothing personal harmsc12, your name really didn't give it away. I'm presently adjusting my thinking. :)

As for the topic at hand, I kind of feel that I've evolved past this kind of discussion. It doesn't really matter what anyone believes. Your beliefs are your own. It's what you do with them that matters.

Gee, if you were that confused, you could have googled my username or even asked me. I just assumed everyone knew I was a guy.

You don't seriously expect me to believe that a web site with the address "about-jesus.org" is going to give me unbias facts, do you? :|

Heh, googleing usernames is fun. I found out Harmsey is Pentacostal!

I looked at mine, there seems to be a lot of people using it now, but I have proof that I was using it in 1997!!

It seems you found the website I designed for the church I go to. Someone else is going to take over the maintenance of it.

I wasn't really confused. Sometimes through comments and mannerisms, especially with a nongender name and avatar, people believe you are a certain gender.

Did everyone else know he was a guy? Do we need a "Guess my gender" thread? Not that it really matters online, though. Eh.

Like you for example, that avatar is obviously a gay hamster, rather than a female. You can tell by the eyes as it stuffs the carrot in it's mouth.

Honestly though, on teh intrawebs, I assume everyone is a male unless it becomes apparent otherwise. You end up being right more of the time.

thanks for that! it was a great read.

It seams that it's ok to provide claims that debunk theology, but its not ok to provide for.

double standards anyone??

Sorry, ElHoopso, most evolutionists demonize anyone who try to refute evolution, just as many creationists demonize anyone who tries to refute creation.

Ignorance is indeed bliss. And why do you suppose the website about-jesus.org has not included a link to contact them?
