I know one couple that divorced many years ago, but stayed in the same house - he had one portion, she the other. A few years ago they reconciled and are now sharing the whole house again

My cousin and his wife divorced about 10 years ago, but still live as husband and wife in the same house. I think she may have initiated the legal divorce to protect herself because he's not the most responsible rogue. They do love each other very much.

I bet this was what happened in divorce court...

Judge: I say, since no one can righfully claim the house we shall cut it in twain.

Man: Sure.

Lady: No I'd rather die than let the thing I love be cut in two.

Judge: I've decided. Well clearly the rightful owner is the wife, but I'm tired so let's cut the damn thing in half.
