(If it ever was publicized) I bet the super creative media would call it...Assaultgate!

Or something "-gate" anyways.

Everyone's too busy crucifying Joe the Plumber though.

Notice the DV's when I say something remotely controversial... though true.. Those people don't reply.. just DV. Oh well... guess it's the nature of those who champion truth and free speech...

Down Vote me people! Be like the guy in the article please!!

Please. One isolated nutcase smacks a lady with a sign and suddenly it's a conspiracy. Shall we jump to the same conclusions then about McCain supporters attacking reporters (as happened today) or making noises like pitchfork mobs ("Traitor!" "Off with his head!")? It's campaign season.

Well, actually folks DID jump to that conclusion about McCain. Earlier this week, Keith Olbermann (of MSNBC) railed against Gov. Palin for not confronting someone attending a speech she was giving, for shouting "Kill 'Em" about Obama. The only problem… Palin wasn't at the event yet… in fact, she wouldn't arrive until over 30 minutes AFTER it happened.

We heard the other night from Obama himself (in the debate) about how horrible McCain supporters are… and there is currently a campaign going on to paint McCain supporters as irrational and unstable (based mostly on the actions of a few loons). However, when someone ACTUALLY attacks someone else… well, that's nothing to be concerned with.

If you're going to claim this is "too be expected" (how sad is that?), fine… but don't complain when nasty stuff starts happening to "your" guy… whomever that may be.

It never fails to amaze me. The people who always wind up crying the loudest about "free speech," and "we're losing our rights"... are always the ones happiest to take YOUR'S away. "Everyone has the right believe what ever they want," goes the mantra, "Just so long as it agrees with me."

Don't worry, the DV's will keep coming. Last week I was up at 17 points... this week, I've fallen down to 16 (after a month on 17). Don't be surprised when it's not just this post... but almost every other post you've ever made, somehow falls in points. A sad state of affairs, if you ask me.

But for a real comparison, and further evidence about which way the media votes… do a Google search for, "McCain supporter attacked"… notice how few stories there are, and how the sources aren't major publications. Now search "McCain supporters shouted"… notice how many more articles come up and from well known areas? Interesting, huh?

I agree... I shot up in points until I started challenging some of the things posted here. I'm glad you still speak your mind anyway. What's funny is you point out something like this and it gets minimized and DV'ed. But someone points out a douchebag in a McCain crowd with a stuffed monkey and it gets Upv'd and the anti-mccain comments come out.

It sure is sad, but it also is to be expected - this is a heated race, and human nature is what it is. That doesn't justify or excuse the behavior on either side, but it's going to happen, especially when both campaigns have gone negative the way they have. I think you and I can both agree on that.

As far as "actual" attacks go - those are happening too on the McCain side. Like I mentioned before, the reporter in Greensboro who was decked by some guy at a Palin rally for trying to interview an Obama supporter who showed up (brave).

I don't think there is any sort of conspiracy to cover up yelling at Obama rallies, as you seem to suggest - I think the rhetoric from the two campaigns differs in that the McCain camp (particularly Palin - she seems to have been assigned this job) is painting Obama as some kind of dangerous subversive, unsurprisingly incites violent tendencies in some people. While Obama has certainly had his share of negative rhetoric, it's not the same kind of thing - nobody's going to get out the torches and pitchforks over it. He's not calling McCain's service to the country or patriotism in question, etc. So there's just no yelling to cover up.

The media has covered plenty of bad behavior by Obama supporters though - I am weary of the "Palin is a c*nt" T-shirts already... not to mention all the juvenile crap at the Republican Convention protests. There are plenty of hooligans on both sides.

I can't see how an assault that allegedly took place on September 15th can be blamed on something Obama said in October...

But I AM quite interested in why I didn't hear about it. Perhaps because it was in New York? I am glad the person pressed charges, this kind of behavior is WRONG no matter WHO does it!
