I hope he's bringing his daughters. He definitely needs to pay homage to this wonderful woman, and his daughters and his grandmother both need to see each other so they know they will all be ok. I would wish she could live long enough to see January, or even just November 5....

My only worry is that his grandmother may be too ill and he may be unable to finish out the last few days of the campaign.

As much as I don't want him to be President, I'd hate for him to lose because he had to attend to his ailing grandmother.

I disagree. I think this is going to help him, and show the "softer side" of Obama. Things like this (not to sound cynical), are great for the female vote... especially older women.

Well, anyway... I hope she recovers, and all is well.

He is only taking a few days off. No worries.

The way the headline reads, it sounds like he is done until election day.

In all honesty, there are things in life that are important, and things that are more important. He gets points in my book for keeping things in perspective.

I believe he'll be elected anyway, but say he loses: he can run again. Say she dies: there's no do-over for that.

Once he's in office I hope he continues to honor his elder family members. They deserve it, God knows what they've been through and sacrificed for their families.

Agreed. I will always give him credit where it is due, and I am glad to see that he has his priorities in order. Is the Presidency worth the life of his grandmother? Absolutely not. I'm glad he sees this.
