My prediction:

Palin will return to Alaska. Ted Stevens looks like he's going to win re-election to the Senate, despite his conviction last week (he's ahead by 3,000 votes, and 1% point at the moment, too close to call, but let's assume for now). However, he'll have to almost immediately resign his position... leaving it open.

The Republican leadership (if smart), will appoint Sarah Palin to the position. This will give her some good experience in the Senate, polish her up, and perhaps allow her to run again in the future. I don't think she'll run again in 2012... that's probably going to be a tough race. But if the Republicans don't take the WH in '12, the I would expect a re-run in 2016.

That's my prediction.
