Is the British ton the same as the American one?

British ton is 1000kg, or its a tonne, or something, can't remember which way round they go :P

But it is 1000kg!

Which unit of measure they reported is not really the point, because by any measure 100 tons is a lot (another older unit of measure), but considering it's in a tabloid, the reporter probably went with the most sensationalist number.

But delusional hoarding is a serious problem for many old people. And for the record, 7 dead dogs is a fairly small amount of even dead animals kept under these circumstances. How many houses have been breached by the authorities in America in the last 10 years to discover like 70 cats living in filth?

Makes one wonder what's in our water supply these last few decades ;)

I was wondering if they found some good stuff to sell to help with the costs of the clean up. I mean, it can't be all trash in there.
