4 out of 5 as well. But then, everyone knows Plimates are smarter than the average bear.

Although, I wouldn't have really gotten the meatball one or the Tuesday one without the multiple choice answers.

If your cartoons are that hard to decipher then I think you need a new job.

I got 2 wrong. Two cowboys, behind some rocks, worried about flaming arrows? WTF? I blame that one on bad cartooning.

The rest I got.

I immediately thought of Seinfeld when I was doing the quiz:

Elane goes to The New Yorker asking what a certain comic was supposed to mean.

Elaine: Now we got a dog and a cat in an office. The cat is saying "I've enjoyed reading your E-mail".

Mr. Elinoff: Oh! yeah... That's a rather clever jab at inter office politics don't you think.

Elaine: Ahan, Ahan....yeah...Euh but, Why is it that the, that the animals enjoy reading the email?

Mr. Elinoff: Well Miss Benes . Cartoons are like gossamer and one doesn't dissect gossamer. heh..hemm..

Elaine: Well you don't have to dissect if you can just tell me. Why this is suppose to be funny?

Mr. Elinoff: Ha! It's merely a commentary on contemporary mores. (slides the magazine to her)

Elaine: But, what is the comment. (she slides the magazine back to him)

Mr. Elinoff: It's a slice of life.
Elaine: No it isn't.

Mr. Elinoff: Pun?

Elaine: I don't think so.

Mr Elinoff: Vorshtein?

Elaine: That's not a word.....You have no idea what this means do you?

Mr Elinoff: No.

Elaine: Then why did you print it.

Mr. Elinoff: I liked the kitty.

That counts as humor? Wow. As far as I can tell, the New Yorker is just some way to make the Upper Class on the East Coast feel better than the upper class on the west coast, even if they already think that we're all just a bunch of hippies who can't connect with them because the rockies are in the way. Apparently, they haven't heard of the internet. Or the phone. Or the telegraph. Or the pony express. Or the gof**koffyousnobbyprickandkeepyourannoyingsmellycitythatwegotojusttolaughatyou.ohcrap, ismyspacebarbrokenagain?

The cowboys one was plain stupid.

The others made sense if you think about it for a while.

But why would a comic draw a comic that is missing a crucial piece of information?!

Usually the New Yorker cartoons are very funny.
These were definitly off the wall.
Not sure why the cartoon editor even passed these, particularly the cowboy one, as up to their standard.

4/5. And , in my most humble of opinions...not too funny.

Now, this is funny, :)

I thought the cowboy one was slightly humorous, but I got it wrong because it looked like the one cowboy leaning on the rock was lounging, not hiding. I missed the fact that he had his gun drawn.

I got them all right, but I did "get" any of them. I didn't find them funny, and the explanations I chose were just seemed like the only ones that remotely explained them. They're all pretty lame if you ask me.

Here I am thinking I got most of them wrong, but I got all of them right.

I thought the burning their arrows was a Euphemism for masturbation, but alas that wasn't the option. The thing about the forts was my second guess.

Ah, all you mental giants! I am a mental midget...I only got two of them right. IMO, these are the kind of jokes that have to be explained. Not overly funny.
