13th March, 1989, Tim Berners-Lee laid out his thoughts on setting up a system of accessing a vast repository of knowledge from remote location.
From this paper, The World Wide Web was born.
Thinking about it, I don't think this is The World Wide Web's birthday. I think it's the anniversary of when Tim Berners-Lee got busy with The World Wide Web's momma.
Which was presumably a server or something.
