At a new breed of "Robin Hood" restaurants, diners pay what they can afford -- and what they think the meal is worth. picked by rubes68 3 years ago

That's a pretty interesting concept.

I would be too afraid of the situation like the NYC restaurant, I guess that's because I live in a 'big city'.

ha! i wish they would open one here! i want to eat organic food more often, but i really cant because of the price. hopefully this buisness venture will be able to not only help out those down on their luck, but also expose people to a healthier way of eating that they may not experience when hindered by $$$

It's an interesting concept. I would be too afraid that after the novelty wore off, you'd get stuck with a lot of unpaid bills.

And how exactly does the "work an hour to pay off your mean" sit with local labor and tax law? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm just curious. Even though you're working off your debt to the restaurant, is it still considered income?

At the end of the day at One World, only one garbage can needs to be emptied.
That's cool! Better that everyone, including the homeless, eat the amount of food that they want then to have the homeless eat out of the overflowing dumpster!

That is really something. I would like to see that branching out into other cities.
