Similarly, I once had to get some lines up into some high tree branches to erect a wire antenna.

I used a Wrist Rocket (a powerful slingshot) with a fishing reel attached and a lead sinker tied to the end of the fishing line. After a few tries, I had my line up and over the highest branches with ease.

Maybe next time I'll use bottle rockets.
