The poor woman. :(

I can see how that would happen. You sit in a wheelchair and you become invisible.

I sometimes use a chair, when I'm not feeling well. I used one in an airport a few times, and the attendants really do ignore you. They barely speak to you, and you are sort of "separate" from the other passengers, with no control. It's just my body that has a problem not my mind. You often have to wait in a "holding room" where they take your boarding card, and say they will come get you when needed. You have to hand over all control to them. It's not a nice way to be treated.

I hope nobody ever treats you like that again, Marz. I hate it when people forget that others should be treated with dignity.

That scenario is every adult child's nightmare.

My mom had not yet been diagnosed with Alzheimer's when my sister brought her from North Carolina to visit me once. She took Mom in the bathroom with her and asked Mom to hold the stall door shut for her (to keep her in line of sight and sound). Mom got distracted and followed a woman with a young child out of the bathroom, berating her for some perceived infraction while my sister was frantically hitching her britches in the stall. Luckily Mom didn't get far before Barbara caught up with her, but man. One of many close calls....
