I have to admit that financial matters make punctuated equilibrium seem like a cake walk,

yet I can't shake this feeling that this is just the big pigs bellying up to the trough before the "party" is over.

I however have stocked up on my stores of cake.

...The pledges, amounting to half the value of everything produced in the nation last year...
I feel like there's something wrong with spending half of your total money in a year on any one thing.

ARG! These people are falling on their own swords!

We had to make a large purchase this last weekend, and one place wouldn't finance either hubby or me at ALL. The other place did, with no problem. Well, gee, guess where we purchased?

And my father in law comes in today saying he might just have to pay off and close his new AMEX account. He has ultra-stellar 900+ credit, and they just raised his percentage rate to 26.9%!!!!! (All the offers I have been getting were at 16.9%)

His other cards are 8% and 9%, he doesn't need the AMEX. He got it after Discover raised his rate and wouldn't lower it. If AMEX doesn't lower his rate, they lose him as a customer.

I have no sympathy for them.

I also need to contact Experian and ask them why they are not helping the economy by denying credit reports! They won't even give me a score, although I have good scores on the other 2 reporting agencies, and our credit refusals were based solely on Experian. I have no idea what they would say, as we have good credit...
