I dont know when Heroin became a medication instead of a drug haha.

Either way, though, I glad they're becoming progressive in this area.

:) Of course it was a medication before it was used recreationally. If I'm not mistaken it was invented by Bayer or some other company known for aspirin. It is also still used as a prescription drug is some countries under names other than 'heroin'.

The Swiss program isn't using heroin as a prescription drug. It is similar to other programs around the world where addicts come into a controlled environment and are given their fix with sterilized needles and a known potency/purity of heroin.

They also have to go through addiction therapy/treatment to try and get them to be able to stop. This just helps stop the deaths, the gathering and shooting up in parks (with discarded needles all over) as well as a bunch of other negatives caused by the illegal drug use.
