I personally think it's a non-issue. He was candid and honest about his high school daze. How many people out there can say they did cocaine and smoked pot in high school, then got their act together and went to Harvard?
But still, I would like to know more about this guy.

This is a non-issue. I certainly prefer the honesty over something like "I didn't inhale"

I would be more concerned that the guy has no experience. There is no way this man could be elected president just yet.

He needs to get elected as a govener, get a few terms of executive experience before trying to go for the top job.

Yeah, Democrats would rather be lied to than told the truth about anything.

Finally, a politician that can admit his faults!

Hallelujah!!

I agree that it's a non-issue, but as the article points out, Judge Ginsberg couldn't get on the Supreme Court because he had smoked marijuana. People don't care if their politicians become liars, cheats and adulterers, but they better be pure as the driven snow before election.

He is quoted in the article as saying "That's where I'd been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man. . . . "

Is he saying he chose not to be a black man? What is he saying about being a black man? I'm not sure where he was going with this??

But, I agree... It is nice to hear the honesty. I just hope he can run his campaign as just a man and not as a black man, concentrating on his platform not his race.

I think his point was to say that he would become a stereotype or a statistic. I don't think he was saying anything bad about his own heritage, just expressing that he wanted to overcome what certain parts of society expected from him. Still don't know where I stand on his policies, but I love the honesty. We all know Clinton inhaled.
