Downloaded. Will see how it comes in handy and if it really saves "resources". I don't know how to verify that.

Step 1) Buy two brand new toner cartridges.

Step 2) Print full sheets of text until the toner runs out. Then do it again with the new font.

Step 3) Enlighten us with your savings :)

Anyone else remember when green was a color?

I'm sick of every freaking thing being called green anymore. Damn it.

I asked someone where I could find some good green the other day and he sent me to a recycling factory! This is getting out of hand!

Ironic that you get "best results with a laser printer" given, you know, the carcinogenic fumes... Also, it says that it works best with font size 9 or 10. ANY font is more ink-efficient at that size.

I never print anyway, so this would be useless for me :)

True, but it would be more so than other fonts. The problem is that at bigger fonts you begin to see the missing space in the letters.

If you assume that people would use a laser printer anyway, it would in fact decrease the amount of fumes. They don't say "throw out your ink-jet and get a laser printer" - if you just switch to this font for stuff you'd print anyway, on the printer you use anyway, you might save something. So it somehow does make sense.

Wow...what a complicated alternative to just changing the font color to grey instead of black!

I downloaded it, and I really think printingin gray not only would make it appear a lot better, but would probably also use less ink,

Really?

Edit: Also, the font is kind of ugly. Pretty noticeable you're skimping out on the ink...Cheapskate.

The font looks like it was in a shoot out and mortally wounded.

Extrapolating from this I propose greening up the world with a hail of bullets!! I can sell you whatever ammo you may need to "green" up any aspects of your life. Payal is accepted!

I'm gonna use Helvetica bold to offset all of you clowns...then plant a tree ...then cut it down with a chainsaw...then burn it in my fireplace.

So how is this going to save more ink than using an outline style font?

This is f**king stupid.

OK. It's not going to solve all the problems in the world. All it does is save you some ink if:

- You don't want to reduce the amount of your printing
- You don't want to switch to a smaller font
- You want to keep your documents as readable as usual.

And it's free. That's it. Just one of the small things everyone can easily do, and that don't cost a thing or require you to change old habits.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Pretty neat though.

Never said switch to a smaller font, there are tons of fonts that look a hell of a lot nicer that will save you some ink. A nice outline font will do the same thing and save even more ink....and still look nice and even professional.

You want an eco-font, it should have different levels of line thickness that you can choose to better fit your printing needs. You need just a draft copy, use the thin lined version and when you need a presentation copy go to the thicker lined version. Same size font, just less white space and it would use even less ink than this so called Green font.

Personally I like the disclaimer:

This seems more like a company trying to jump on the Green bandwagon, hoping to drive more business their way than it does someone trying to do something good for the environment.

Probably you used more resources by downloading the font then you will ever save with using it.
