Secrets? Where?

To me, baking is something that should be shared. I'll happily share recipes of everything I've made, unless it's a recipe that has been vouch-safed to my care, in which case I respect the wishes of the person who shared it with me.

I love my mom's recipe for cookies. They always come out perfect (that is, unless there was a mistake made). I haven't had a cookie that even came close. That said, I definitely have to try out this recipe sometime.

Haha! I heard this lady on NPR when it aired and I was busting up. She sounded like something straight out of a cartoon or something.

Funny thing is, I've been baking cookies all night, and just say this.

I've also been reading recepies and watching Alton Brown's "Good Eats" cookie episode repeatedly for the past week.

The cookie episode by Alton Brown is one of the few Good Eats episodes that Shirley ISN'T in.
Love her in the Fudge episode, though.

Is it just me who reads this and imagines that an organic cell is basically a tiny city of protein-based activity and then all of a sudden "springy stretchy, strong elastic sheets of gluten" are formed, and shape themselves into a terrible realm where human teeth and saliva are the enemy?

What about the mitochondria, people! Think of the mitochondria!
