Every time I look at her sweet little face I get sick to my stomach. This story is just awful.

Is anyone at all surprised?

Tragic, though. People are sick.

No one really expected the little girl to be found alive, but there was a (VERY) slim possibility. At least now, there's additional evidence to help give her piece-of-sh!t mom what she so richy deserves.

The article on CNN.com goes into more detail. It mentions that a childhood friend of Casey's had already told the police to search that area, as it's where she and Casey hung out together a lot when they were younger.

I think we all knew she wouldn't be found alive. And I still believe the family, someone in the family, whether it be the mother or grandparents, had something to do with this.

I've following this, and the latest details on John Walsh's sweet little boy, who was beheaded. It's sad and frightening that we live in such a horrible world.

I just want to say this: While horrible, awful things certainly do happen in this world, I don't think it's a horrible place.

This little girl's death is certainly tragic, but we only know about it through the wonders of technology and our interconnected world. It is one case among millions of children, who live happy, long lives, grow into respectable people, and never make the news, or at least not Plime.

Because of the nature of news and the availability of the internet, as well as human nature, which tends to remember the horrible anomilies better than the wonderful commonalities, things seem worse than they are.

Chin up. It's not so bad out there.

Fine. The world sucks. There's nothing good.

What's worth the bother at all?

It is this bad in isolated cases. This is the exception, not the reality for most.

No, there is good. The interconnections you talk about are the reason this is so bad. Bad because we are spoon fed nothing but the bad news and the more gruesome and sensational it is the more people eat it up. I'm not a total pessimist, I love good things, we just are drowning in the medias attempt the scare the s**t out of us.

*edit* Nevermind. I don't want to say what I wrote. I'm just testy tonight, and I wanted to find a silver lining.

While my own personal world is not sad, horrible, or frightening, when an innocent child is murdered, it shows how sad, horrible and frightening the world can be, no matter how much the media covers it and puts it out there for the world to view and read.

An innocent child was still murdered.

Lynxears, thanks. I appreciated the reminder that not everything sucks, even if Mr. Bubble Burster didn't. BB's right though, it does totally suck that all we hear about is the s**tty stuff. I think one of the weekly themes, especially since it's getting near Christmas, should be Good News.

Poor Caylee. The timing's awfully crappy but at least the relatives who did love her can have some closure this Christmas. While I don't think the grandmother did it, I'm sure that deep down she knew. She realized that if she continued presenting Casey as a suspect that she'd end up losing her daughter along with her grandchild. Not commendable at all, but on some base level, understandable.
