I think it sets a good example. Parents should be held accountable when it can be proven that they didn't do their job.

umm, how old is an "adult" in Korea? And did they never talk to him about respecting women, or was their crime allowing the guy to watch porn?

Coming from a bad family does not a pedophile make, and a lot of that is genetic so I'm not sure it was a learned behavior...

I don't know, unless it is obvious that his parents taught him this behavior was ok, or never corrected his poor treatment of girls in the past, I see no reason why they should be punished.

They failed to teach him that this behavior is not ok. They permitted him to age without giving him boundaries.

Sexual preference is genetic, but there wasn't anything in the article to indicate anything other than someone who never learned who it was ok to boink.

Hmm... my parents never told me that rape was wrong. Did they fail at parenting? I don't ever remember being specifically told not to kill people either.

Do you think 23 is too old to use the 'my parents never told me that sociopathic behaviour was wrong' defence? I mean some time in a sanitarium might be fun.
