I would love to see this work. When I moved recently, I had about 6 weeks junk mail free. It's all started again. Catalogs, solicitations, everything. All that wasted paper, ink, energy...I hate it.

I've nearly stopped junk mail, which consisted mainly of credit card offers by going to this site.

I hope it stops some of it. Just signed up.

Drives me crazy getting the junk mail from my credit card companies. No, I do not want to write checks against my credit limit. No, I do not want other offers.

And please, American Girl, stop sending me catalogs! My nieces are all too old now.

It should help with the credit offers, another site that I haven't tried is Catalog Choice. It's supposed to help get rid of unwanted catalog mailings.

Bless you. I am registered and will start on the catalog list. It is so wasteful and drives me crazy.

One of the oldest tricks in the book, not to mention the funnest (heh heh) is to stuff those prepaid envelopes that come with some junk mail with their own stuff or other junk mail. Make it as heavy as possible and they'll have to pay extra for your garbage. I also like ripping up the stuff I stick in there so they have a big mess when they open it. A few times I even gave them candy wrappers and other small bits of trash. I hardly get junk mail anymore. LOL.

Exactly, I send back their envelopes, which means they now have to pay postage. I usually get some cat hair from the couch and send that.

I hadn't thought of the overstuffing ploy.....excellent (wrings hands)

Why do they need a social security number?

It's been some time since I signed up, I don't remember having to supply my SSN, so it may be something new. My philosophy, if your not comfortable with the sign up info, try another course of action.
