 Dome House
Dome House
Dubbed the “habitat for the 21st century,” the Dome House is an igloo-shaped structure built from snap-together wall sections made of 100% expanded polystyrene foam (styrofoam). It might seem like an odd choice of material for a house, but the company lists a number of advantages that styrofoam has over traditional materials. picked by AutumnLotus 11 months ago

I recall a phrase from a man who lived in a geodesic dome.

The shape caused a LOT of echoes. He said his 6 year old son sounded like a racehorse in the bathroom!

I had a cousin that lived in a concrete (gunite) dome near San Diego, we always called it the Flintstone house. I always thought it would be so cool to live there.

I'm sure that polystyrene does have a lot of advantages over other building materials, but the disadvantages of it being light and not very sturdy would be high in my mind. Any prospective intruder could either punch his way in or just lift the whole thing up.
