actually blogs are perfectly fine. They are even encouraged on posts like this.

The only times you are requested to limit blog links is on news articles or similar posts. Better to post the source of the news article instead of the blog post. You can and again are encouraged to post a link to a blog within the description of a news article when the blog offers a lively discussion/debate on the subject at hand.

Oh and no one can post links to their own blog on the front page - not even in the description/comments.
