And how is this different from what the Vatican has done the past 2 millenia ? Besides, it is not the Obama administration that decides over abortions, but it just allows others to make the choice for themselves. Which basically means Obama DOES NOT decide between life and death.

This is a response to - there is an interesting discussion there, and I already spoke my thing.

I'm always sad that the choice to show real compassion to the poor is met with such divisiveness. Nobody "wants" abortions, but give me a world where they are no longer economically and medically necessary and we can talk about eliminating them forever. Until then I think this is a very good thing.

so the vatican is unhappy. As soon as the vatican becomes a US State, then I'll listen to their opinion.

They feel EXACTLY the same way about the pill and condoms... the "all or nothing" approach of the church has always baffled me... how can you live with no room for compromise?
