Maybe everyone knows this, but the last photo is of a gym in an outdoor mall in CA. It's just zoomed in far enough that you can't see everything else around it.

That is, they didn't build an escalator in front of a gym. They built a gym in a mall and the spot they got happened to be right in front of an escalator - the places they usually reserve for key "anchors" in the mall.

But still... that's a mighty short escalator.
