Boy with double polydactyly born in SF
Boy with double polydactyly born in SF
Newborn Kamani Hubbard has six fully formed and functional fingers and toes on his hands and feet. His doctor says he's "tempted to leave the digits in place." Why the heck not?

Pic is not his hand.

Hopefully I've been cured of dupe fever now. picked by meggysue 10 months ago

GAAHHH!!! SOOO COOOL!!! My sister has a polydactyl kitty and he's quite awesome... Seriously think of the talent that kid could have! Like the doc said, the guitar and piano skills could be off the chart!

I wish I had extra functional fingers on my hands... :/

I hope they leave him alone. In an age when docking dogs tails is frowned on, how can they seriously consider removing normal, functioning fingers?

He'd better stay in a warm climate...he'll never get proper gloves...

Looks like they're going to leave him as he is. That's so awesome! As was said, I'm jealous. :P

Imagine all the mind-f*cking he can do with his drunken friends when he gets older...

"how many fingers am I holding up?"

reminds me of a joke.

What do you give a kid with six fingers?

Fireworks.

Sorry, had to.

They better leave him as he is, if there is no physical issues removing them is an unnecessary risk.

Haha - that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this story. Then I realized: mittens! He'll be OK. :D

Captain Pedantic says "that's Inigo Montoya to you, mister."

(He also says this is a double post, but I have tired of his pedantics.)

Shoes might be a problem, too. That's the only rationale I can think of for removing the extra toes, unless extra-wide shoes would work.
