Couple in MA selling debt on EBay
Couple in MA selling debt on EBay
They are both out of a job with a 2 year old and a mortgage. They are selling their debt in $10.00 chunks. Buyers will get a thank you note and a photo of the family.

The original auction listing was removed by EBay, but was relisted here - probably with a wording change to make it acceptable.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. picked by Moe 10 months ago

I kind of want to donate to them, even though I am in my own debt.

Edit: Wow, I just told my cool boss about this and he said "well yeah, some people are idiots" I said "umm, I kind of want to help them out". "well do you know them?" "no", "well a lot of people have lost their jobs". GAH! It doesn't mean they don't need help and people should have compassion.

/end rant.

I would love to help people out, but I may find myself asking for debt relief soon

I would not be opposed to helping them...but I don't know how much of it is true.

there are so many people who are scammers out there, that I am just too reluctant to take part in this.

It could be a reverse scam. Maybe the guy is an eccentric billionaire and he's just waiting to see how many people donate - kinda testing our empathy towards fellow humans who are in dire straits.

Then, after it's all over, everyone who donated $10 will get back $10,000 in gratitude...

*POP* wha? huh?

I think this is a new kind of begging, just using the internet instead of a street corner. Lord knows I need money, but I'd never stoop so low as to beg for it.
