Jury awards drunken idiot $2.3 million for losing his leg
Jury awards drunken idiot $2.3 million for losing his leg
Dustin Dibble gets incredibly drunk. He has no recollection of how he got to the subway let alone got on the tracks. Because the subway operator doesn't stop every 22' whenever garbage is seen on the tracks NYC is labeled at fault. picked by 2manyusernames 9 months ago

So why does a NY jury see the driver of the train responsible for an amputation and Canada doesn't seem to hold any blame for the Airport personnel for this death? It makes no sense.

That's a terrible excuse. Someone needs to be held responsible for that.

""It was just an accident [but] it wasn't my choice to lose my leg," Dibble said yesterday at his Bay Ridge home."

He was lucky it wasn't his head.

The train operatior said that he pulled the emergency brake, meaning he noticed something was wrong. It's not like he thought "oh theres a person on the tracks...I'll keep going". On top of that the train operator suffered a fatal stroke before the trial - most likely caused by the stress of what happened.

Next he should sue the glass makers that manufactured both his drinking glass and the bottle from which he drank.

I'm sure there is a jury somewhere that would award that suit as well.

How is a train supposed to stop that fast? Last I heard, it takes a while for them to actually be able to stop. Not like they can stop on a dime.

Rediculous! We (Accross the pond in the far-away land of Europa) hear about suits in the US all the time, and it's incredible what you can get away with!

"I didn't choose to lose my leg" What an idiot!

I wonder how many people would sue if the trains would stop every few seconds for some trash on the tracks...

I once broke my nose when i was drunk because somebody walked into me. Even though I was drunk it was more her fault than mine. Give me one million!

It's not the first time a jury has award big $$ to a drunken fool on the subway tracks.

The train driver should now sue Hopalong for the stress caused by the lawsuit that probably induced his stroke. That would be karma at work
