Teacher suspended and may face criminal charges for firing a nerf foam dart
Teacher suspended and may face criminal charges for firing a nerf foam dart
Mom's not upset that her brat of a daughter wouldn't shut up or show respect for her fellow classmates. No she's upset because the teacher was joking around with a foam dart and wants to press charges. picked by 2manyusernames 9 months ago

It's a sad case of parents not equipping their kids with proper Nerf armor.

The report also said that after Baker fired the foam dart, the girl slapped Baker with the back of her hand.
If a being hit by a nerf dart is an assault, then what the hell is slapping considered?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the penalty for slapping the teacher is either expulsion or becoming a permanent Nerf target.

For this Nerf gun, that is:

parents are really starting to piss me off! i can't figure out what happened to being responsible for your actions and also how to take a joke. i have tried to read an "assault" into this one and i just can't see it.

i remember a teacher throwing a chair to get the classes attention once and another slapped the bottom side of a sleeping students desk with a wooden paddle and nothing happened to either of them...why? because the students deserved it and they were forced to take responsibility for their actions.

i can't wait for a student athlete to sue the coach for making them run after they don't listen in practice.

It's already happened, it just didn't make the news. My junior year in high school, our football coach was fired after he grabbed a player by his facemask and pulled him close so that he could yell in his face to pay attention to the damn game. The guy was piddle-farting off on the sideline and almost got creamed when a play ended up out of bounds. The student wasn't the one who had the problem with his coach's actions though, it was his mom, who witnessed it from the stands and made a huge deal out of it in the principal's office that following monday.

Back when I was in high school we had a teacher that would launch their keys to make them land on your desk to wake your *ss up if you were dozing off. It worked.

I am a parent now I can honestly say if that was my 14 year old SHE would be seeing the FRONT of MY hand. And the teacher would be getting the most forced appology he's ever heard in his life from a 14 year old. :)

But the sad reality is..that teacher will probably be fired and little miss rudeness will have learned a very invaluable lesson.

My first wake up to the parental issue was working for a charter school. I caught a group offsite, smoking weed. I called the parents thinking "ha ha - you're gonna get it now kiddo"

but no

the mother of one of the most egregious offenders yelled at me for not babysitting better.

The mom herself should grow up. I hate it when parents don't see their children as they really are (most of the time, these parents are parents of the brattiest kids I've seen).

My Physics teacher in high school had an air gun that he used to shoot at us if we didn't shut up. It embarrassed us enough that we would quiet down a little bit (due to the fact that hey, we're getting shot... with an air gun. We're not gonna complain about THAT.) What a twerp. I feel ashamed that that girl can't take a little fwap.

I second your sentiments. My child would get a great talking to, with punishment included.

Parents like that are the exact reason why kids grow up with so many problems. Whatever happened to responsibility?
