I'm sure those same passengers would complain even louder if the airline dropped the advertising promotion and raised fares to compensate for the lost revenue.

What's funny to me is they are not "forced" to ride the plane at all. If you don't like it, ask for your money back and then go pay twice as much for another flight.

I suspect that Southwest is making a ton of money off the Sports Illustrated promotion. Maybe.. just maybe helping to keep ticket prices at bay.

well marketing is about getting the word out and a lot of fliers are spenders. is as effective as a billboard on a not so busy street, i think. plus now they have free publicity
