That's incredible! And these movie guys just kept thinking "wow, he's a natural".

I don't get this though:
Córdova says he can't afford to background check the thousands of background actors he uses but he wishes he could.
Large companies can background check all their hires, why can't a movie do that? I mean their budgets are also slightly higher!

And it's not like this guy played "the 3rd guy from the right in the scene with the truck". He's the main character's cellmate! That's an actual role, not just an extra!

someone needs to tell him just needs to check the ones he hires not all applicants - but that might be a problem cause of time? maybe if there was a website that you can access but then privacy ...

Even if you check the guys you actually hire. EVEN if you check only the non-extras guys you hire. How long can this take? I know it's possible to run background checks on people in Europe, and it must be possible (even in a non-privacy invading way) in the US right?

That's how I read it first time, but he's not -

"In the movie Dorff plays a homeowner sentenced to three years in prison for killing a burglar who had invaded his home. Kilmer, serving a life sentence, is Dorff's cellmate."

probably they just don't care or did not feel the need. in a corporate job you don't want to hire a felon cause it wont be good for co image. for a movie it probably helped with publicity! fyi i don't know about time to check etc in US I'm from & in India.

That's what I said, cellmate.

I've seen the movie. The guy doesn't just play a 5 min extra, it's an actual credited role.

I'm probably missing something, but the article says the killer's name is Clifton Bloomfield.

The article says the cellmates are the actors Dorff and Kilmer. Is Bloomfield the 3rd cellmate ?

Oh sorry, I see now. Man that article confused me. I guess I shouldn't be trying to understand this while working on a million things at the office. I kept thinking that this killer guy's last name was Kilmer, but Val Kilmer completely escaped my mind.

Well that's sorted then, let's all move along now.
