So here in Canada, we had/have a party called the Progressive Conservatives. I used to be a member of this party.

Does it mean this quiz fails since I can be neither progressive AND conservative according to it?

I scored 302/400, while the "average 'marekan" is 209. I'm labeled as "extremely progressive."

This in itself is interesting; I'm extreme on the American scale, but pretty much average if not slightly conservative wrt Canadians.

Even here the term "progressive" is usually used incorrectly in a strict sense.

Many use progressive when they mean liberal. For some "liberal" has a bad taste so they use the better sounding progressive.

Not really suprised there. The only area I'm not really "progressive" on is economics, partially because I don't have enough knowledge on it to go either way.

I got a 247, I'm still about in the middle area, leaning progressive, as always.

I got a 261. I actually didn't expect to get as high as I did for a couple reasons, but I suppose my answering a lot of them with 5 because they were statements that I could neither agree nor disagree with brought my score up.

From what I gather, there is a distinct bias to the test. Almost everyone who took it score higher than imagined they would. The test was written by a liberal website so it isn't that surprising that the text of the questions and the methodology of determining the score wasn't slanted to the progressive side.
