NOT just bad ones...I am sure that we all realize that while there are bad ones, the vast majority have our safety and put their lives on the line daily for us. Having said that, my best story is about a bad one. We were driving through Mississippi with a car with NY plates and a Dead Head sticker. I know, I know. But we were also young and stupid. We had a two year old with us as wel...

What's the dumbest thing you ever got punished for?

In this thread Mandolinorange and Imnoyoo started the discussion. ME: In Eighth grade I got detention for getting beaten up. I was being picked on my three other guys at recess. I finally had enough and hit one of them just as the teacher decided to turn around and look. We were all given detention where we were to write the dictionary. Ironically, I became friends with my tormentors because they thought I was being treated unfairly....

Should the Government Intervene?

Reading this article this morning about a baby girl who died because her parents didn't seek medical attention reminded me of other similar incidents. I was particularly reminded of the highly publicized sextuplets , where the province of British Columbia seized three of the four surviving babies in order to ensure they recieved life-saving blood transfusion that their religious parents had been refusing. This makes me wonder: should the government intervene in circumstances such as this, where a chil...

Have I mentioned how much I hate the DMV

Well I got stopped at a road block 2 days ago and I'd misplaced my license. The Office gives me a warning ticket and tells me that I have 3 days to get a replacement. Okay, no problem I can do that. Here is where everything goes wrong. I moved to NC from Florida 4 years I ago. When I first went to get my NC license I had to pay a ticket that I had gotten in Florida the year before. I did and I got my license. Great right, whats wrong with that. Well yesterday I tried to get my license replace and they...

Senior Citizen Story

I have a story I'm going to tell and prior to reading it keep in mind that it is funny, sad, and scary all at the same time. So don't be afraid to laugh, cry, and cringe. Friday, January 3rd, 2008 My Grandmother and her husband Bob took a trip to Wal-Mart. My Grandma is in her mid-eighties, Bob is 93. So the couple go to Wal-Mart for their necessities and they prepare to leave. Now, they drive a Mercury Grand Marquis if you don't know what that is it's a big boat of a car. Bob is driving, he puts the ca...
