Bugger means anal sex (I think unwilling anal sex).

When someone says "Well I'll be buggered!", they are, in effect, saying "Well f**k me up the ass!"

I don't know the history of Bloody.

Bloody is barely a swear these days.

Like quite a lot of profanity is a corruption of an exclamation with religious overtones.

It's origin is in "By your Lady", the lady in question being the BVM.

Bugger barely raises an eyebrow now but was originally more of a racist term, being a contraction of Bulgarian. Bulgarians were at one time regarded as a bunch of heathen sodomites.

Rat's cocks, thankfully, still has the power to offend most people.
