Florida Lawmakers Consider Outlawing Salvia divinorum
Florida Lawmakers Consider Outlawing Salvia divinorum
There are several states that have made salvia illegal so far, but to quote the article "...in Florida, there is no law"

Alcohol has caused tens of thousands more deaths than this, but hey if it is smoked, it must be bad eh? I don't know much about the stuff, the attention it is getting just seems a little biased. picked by moe 7 months ago

As for people saying that it should be remained legal, and it you should use it safely, may I not that 90% of humans tend to not listen to such warnings.
Let the stupid kill themselves?

I've try salvia a few time and it is not that bad, your just very confuse and ,you feel strange and you cant stop laughing, but your back to normal in 20 minute and it is far from addictive since the feelings you get are too strange.

I don't think it could be dangerous unless you are driving or if your are in an unsafe place.Remember it only last 20 minutes.

I smoked it once accidentally. I described the experience in the forum thread on psychadelic drugs. It is intense stuff. The one reason that I could see for making it illegal is that there isn't an instant way to test for it, therefore people can drive under the influence, and when they get pulled over there is no way to see what's making them trip. Even when they figure out it's Salvia, the stuff is legal. And under the influence of Salvia, it really isn't possible to drive.

« moe : Damn.

I had been half considering thinking about trying just to see what all the hoo-hah is. I do not do any form of illegals at all, nor do I smoke.

Now there is no way I would try anything more than say 1x (if that exists) and only a teeny bit at that I guess. Thanks for the honest input.
If you look around at a few greenhouses, or plant distributors, you can find living specimens being sold right along side all the other sages... Just ask/look for Salvia Divinorum on the little plastic name thing stuck in the dirt. You can also order living clones (wrapped in moist newspaper to keep them alive, I`ve done it) over the internet. Completely safe, and much cheaper (and less potent) than the store bought stuff.

Well 1x would be plain dried Salvia Divinorum leaves, this is a very mild mellow feeling, good for meditating, and not unless smoked in large amounts (bowl after bowl with only a exhale in between) won't give you an out of body experience and you shouldn't trip. It's when you start trying the extracts (15x,10x,15x,20x,30x and so on) but one thing for everyone to know is Salvia is not a recreational drug, in fact scientifically Salvia could do good in area's such as Alzheimer's, HIV, Opium (heroin/opiates/Morphine) dependency, So for the sake of the benifits alone this drug should not be abused, so it doesn't get fully banned.

« mahler87 : Reading these comments has made me think that most religions must have been thought up while smoking this stuff. I don't mean that in an inflammatory or derogatory way. It just seems pretty plausible.
You may be interested in reading Food of the Gods then, I own this book and have read through it twice. It traces the influence of psychadelics on mankind throughout history. One of the things it mentions is the paralell between religion and psychadelic experience.

That looks really interesting, I think I will check it out. Thanks!
