Insite, Vancouver's safe injection site (the only one in North America) may be shut down by the federal government after it announced plans to appeal the BC Supreme Court's ruling aimed at keeping it open.

I for one want to see this site kept open.
I think it's good that there is a safe, legal place for addicts to inject drugs for a few reasons:
- it's clean and help is offered for those who want to try and clean up/de-tox
- it's not encouraging young adults to try illegal drugs, as was one of health minister Douchebag Clement argues (heard it on the news).
- it keeps addicts, while high, and dirty needles off the street.
- have you ever seen a dirty, scraggled drug addict try and inject crushed up tylonel with a dirty needle on a street corner? It's disgusting and horrid. Our government likes takes pride in our human rights record and our ability to take care of all of our citizens, so IMO it's time to act upon it.

I agree with ya Chinook, I think with universal health care it just makes sense to try and help these people be as healthy as possible and get over their addictions.

I think there should be more of these. There is nothing like walking up on someone who is slunched over at 8am and finding a needle sticking out of their arm. It makes for a very uncomfortable situation to say the least.
