Apparently one of the voting machines had a plastic stylus instead of an ink stamp. The pollworkers apparently overrode the machine when it said the ballots were blank.... It only affected 20 ballots, and somehow they were able to contact those voters to return and re-vote....
And you thought LA was bad! On the LA news, I heard this was a deliberate act, and that it was a LOT of voters, and oh my Gawd, the end of the world, etc., the way tv news does. This article sounds a bit more realistic, but still....

Iraqi government leaders pulled Blackwater's permits after the security group fired willy-nilly at nearby citizens while under a mortar attack on an embassy motorcade. 11 civilians were killed, including an Iraqi police officer.
So, now who is guarding the embassy? If Blackwater stays ("illegally") will there be an attack on the embassy? American government's response is vital. Do we support these early steps in Iraq's independence, or fall prey to the black helicopters?

This was covered on the tv news, but not in the online versions of the local papers.
Several MM dispensaries were raided again by the DEA. City Hall says "Hey, we're doing what is legal in the state, but we'll make some concessions to the Feds..."
Protestors were on hand, some were arrested. Can't wait for the DEA to move on to New Mexico and leave us alone for a bit!
