It's best if you don't know. The complexity of it would destroy your brain cells and I need their nutricious value if I am to survive by feeding on your grey matter.

Romanticism: A Weapon of Satan Posted: 8 months ago by palmieres
The Qur’an doesn't really say much about romantic love - instead it highlights the importance of the love for God. Harun Yahya, a Turkish author believes romantic love is unnecessary and even wrong. The first lines of his book are almost enough to get the idea of how this can affect family life and relationships between people (and even genders) in some Islamic societies.

The Russian government has banned the hunting of baby harp seals in the regions surrounding the White Sea."

Video: Resident Evil - Uncensored Opening (original PSX game) Posted: 9 months ago by palmieres
If you’ve played the first PSX game, you’ll recognize the bad voice acting and the cast is full of S.T.A.R.S. (bad, bad pun).

It's so bad it’s funny.

Why the smartest people have the toughest time dating. Posted: 9 months ago by palmieres
Think you're so smart? Then you're probably not so good at the dating game, according to this.

Dr. Alex Benzer makes a few good points - and makes me want to be even a little dumber.

Stop exploitation Posted: 1 year ago by palmieres
Radiohead's 'All I need' video from MTV's EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) campaign. You may not like the band, or have issues with how MTV's doing things nowadays, but watch the video. It give us a sense of the real cost of some of the things we buy.

Crimes against humanity in WWII - So it's not forgotten or denied Posted: 2 years ago by palmieres
Following the news of the decision of the UK's Dep of Education to pull out the Holocaust from school manuals in order not to offend the Islamic comunity, and after receiving a chain email concerning this very subject.

“General Eisenhower understood that many people would be unable to comprehend the full scope of this horror. He also understood that any human deeds that were so utterly evil might eventually be challenged or even denied as being literally unbelievable. For these reasons he ordered that all the civilian news media and military combat camera units be required to visit the camps and record their observations in print, pictures and film. As he explained to General Marshall, “I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to ‘propaganda.’”

The Islamic comunity is so uninformed that some won't even consider not only jews died at the hands of Nazi cruelty, even if ALL should be remembered.

Vanilla Ice - 'Cool as Ice' Posted: 2 years ago by palmieres
I've read this I don't know how many times... maybe to remember a friend I had in high school who thought this was a good movie and quoted it often (he was a huge Vanilla Ice fan - hey, back then it was kind of normal). Again, kind of a long read, but SO worth the 10 minutes you waste on it.
(Sorry, can't seem to be able to upload one single image and there're none of Mr Ice in the library (WTF?)

Behold Riki-Oh, the hero with the bullet-ridden torso who fights to the death for his fellow prisioners after knowing them for a full 5 minutes!
I-Mockery's account of the 1991 martial arts movie based the Japanese manga of the same name. A bit long, but it's worth the read because it's so f-ing funny.
I'll link the one on Vanila Ice's 'Cool as Ice' movie next.
