I won't argue that that much of the movie going public wants a sappy love story but that doesn't mean I have to like it or accept it.Excellent point. I think what you have to realize is Maven that unfortunately the general public wants love story, they want sappy bull s**t and it ruins everything.
It happened to amazing films and made them kinda weak in the story line.
Prime examples: Matrix, LOTR, X-Men... I could go on.
All in all I think the film was practically flawless. Save for a strange moment here and there.

But the plot? Ugh! HellBoy is NOT sappy! Liz is NOT girly! It was like Disney's version of HellBoy.
If you just want to see amazing effects and fantastic characters reminiscent of Pan's Labyrinth (duh, same company), then go, go, go! But if you're looking for something worthy of the character...Meh.]]>
