Brilliant singer/songwriter, I saw him live with a band called Clem Snide, which I will no doubt post shortly. He and Clem Snide together made for one of the best tours I've ever attended, I saw them once, and followed them to their next two shows. The last show was on my birthday, and I hung out with all these gentlemen somewhere backstage in Columbus, Ohio, it was Clem Snide's bassist's birthday too.

Alright I can't find a Clem Snide video, because they've since broken up and Eef Barzelay, the lead singer for Clem Snide, is continuing on with Clem Snide's material. This is "I Love the Unknown" a Clem Snide song, but you only get to see Eef Barzelay, who is talented on his own, but Clem Snide is really a sight to see, they're all great musicians. I wish I could find a video of all of them, but this will have to do.

While I'm at it, this is one of the greatest bands to come a long in a while as far as I'm concerned. This amazing song deserves no less than such an amazing video. Enjoy Beirut, this is my favorite song from them called "Elephant Gun" and my favorite music video period.

Here's another guy I really like who I think has a similar voice, but I've had some friends disagree. I still like him a lot. I knew about him before I knew about Beirut. He's an amazing songwriter, and it's really not even fair the sounds he can make with only two people on stage. I've seen him twice, and was blown away both times.

The message in that song is hard to grab right off the bat, but if you examine it you'll realize he is indeed an amazing songwriter. It's not the album version, but I wanted to go ahead and show how great he is live.

These guys rock, and this track is available as a Guitar Hero custom track too.

Okay here's one I'm not sure how anyone will feel about (and quite a change of pace since blurmore's post). I fell in love with this girl immediately. It's a completely original sound. The way this girl sings lets you know that it's her voice, free of influence from anyone else's. It's not a voice taught to sound like the traditional model for singing voices. The fact that she's an amazing harpist and an amazing lyricist doesn't hurt.

These guys are awesome and I love what they stand for. The lyrics to their songs are hard hitting and it's good to see that someone still voices their opinion.

They don't like this video to be embedded apparently, so I'll just link it. A lot of people only know of Ben Folds Five because of the song "brick," but this is not a song that defines their sound by any means. Ben Folds is a great songwriter, and when he was with Robert Sledge and Darren Jesse, they were a force to be reckoned with. He's still a great singer/songwriter, but I miss the old Ben Folds Five.
