Oh, but we do. Cigarettes are not the only burning vegetation being used, either.

It's called chantix, and if you smoke a ppd or more, a months prescription will be equal to less than what you currently spend.

And if the receptor site suppression doesn't get you off smoking, the suicidal tendencies will.

But seriously, nicotine is a b***h, and any help you can get is good help.

But you have to want it. My mum was on Zyban and it got her to stop smoking while she was taking it. When she finished the course she went straight back to cigarettes purely because, at some inner level, she didn't want to stop.

Picky picky, it's a "minor side effects". And your doctor is more than happy to give you Paxil to counteract it. And Viagra to counteract the ED from the Paxil. And Meridia for the weight gain from the extra drinking because you can't get it up and your depressed and ...

Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

But srsly, smoking is bad.

After several cold turkey attempts, two hypnosis sessions, one bout with nicotine gum, and about twenty tries with the patch, Chantix was finally able to do the job last August.

It wasn't easy, and about two weeks in I called my doctor and told him my fiancee was going to leave me if I didn't kill her first. He prescribed me Klonopin (similar to Valium), but after 2 days of feeling like a zombie, I stopped taking them. Less than a week later, the moodiness disappeared, and I was fine after that. I weened myself off the Chantix after 2 months, with withdrawal symptoms hitting me hard for about a week. Now I'm fine.

Chantix made the difference for me because it changed my whole outlook on smoking. Like others have said, you have to want to quit, but with the patch, I still wanted the cigarette. I'd cheat occasional, while still wearing the patch, and I'd usually go back to smoking within a day or so of finishing the patch.

Chantix made cigarettes disgusting to me. I remember once, about three weeks into it, I walked by a fellow worker that was smoking outside. He held up a cigarette and asked if I wanted one. I didn't say it, but it was as if he had grabbed a wet butt out of a filthy ashtray and offered it to me. I verbally declined but mentally was almost ill with the thought. No other method made me feel that way. I also quickly felt like a nonsmoker, and didn't have those lingering thoughts at the usual times, like after a meal, or when getting into my car.

I advise to have a close relationship with you doctor if you try Chantix, and alert him if you feel just a little off. It doesn't work for everyone, but if you are like me, and have tried just about every other method without being successful, Chantix may be the one.

I seriously thought I'd go through the rest of my life trying to quit. Nine months after my last cigarette, I can't see me going back. Cigarettes still repulse me, and I can't say that I've been tempted to cheat, even once.

I never smoked, but I had a relationship with Copenhagen for a while.

We weren't allowed to use tobacco on duty when I was in the Marines.
You could get away with moist snuff because your coke can became a handy spitoon.

I needed something to offset the nervousness that caffeine brought on. Being awake for sometimes 36 hours at a time will make you drink a lot of coffee.

If you think smoking is nasty, try dipping snuff. It's gross.

No, literally. My last attempt to quit was about 6 months ago, and I haven't worked up to trying again, yet.
