Medicinal Marijuana Posted: 3 weeks ago by
I know there are a lot of Plimates who smoke marijuana. I also know there are a lot of Plimates who don't. I, personally, haven't smoked marijuana in over 20 years...not because of any moral or legal obligation, but because all it ever did to me was make me fall asleep. But, as some of you know, I have a relative that is suffering from cancer. He is often in pain and frequently nauseous. Some of my research shows that he may be helped with the use of Medicinal Marijuana. I also know someone who has r...

Edith Piaf Posted: 3 weeks ago by
So. What regrets do you have? They can be major ones like "I regret I never told Joseph that he was the father" to "I regret that I did not eat that last piece of pie last night" Me...well I am actually a bit ashamed to admit it even...but I regret that even though I have been to NYC many times...I never got a chance to see a game at Yankee Stadium. Damn, that sucks even more after I type it. OK, no promises on feeling better afterwards....

Introduce yourself please Posted: 2 years ago by
And no "Hi, I'm an alcoholic" jokes.

I'll start:

Hi, I'm JaxomLOTUS. I started Worth1000 on the same day I started law school. I ran it mostly out of my school's library. By the time I graduated I didn't have to think twice about going into a career I hated - I had found the web. And now I've started Plime. I've been working on it for 2 and a half years, off and on, and finally have it ready for use. I'm 27 and married, with two children.

You can see a picture of me ...

Plimate for President Posted: 3 weeks ago by
I want to start a thread electing a president from Plime. Wouldn't that be fun? (maybe not. This could get ugly) Who of your fellow Plimates would be a good president? Write in your candidate(s) of choice. Who knows? If there is enough interest, maybe we can have a vote like the weekly avatar....

Plime Recipe Book Posted: 9 months ago by
I was given a brilliant idea by Suebe to create a Plime recipe book. If everyone could post some of their recipes here, we could really make this special. I might even end up actually making a book and putting it up on Lulu. I'd photograph the recipes, too, but if you want to do that as well that'd be swell. I'll kick things off: Pancetta-bread Mix together flour, sugar, water, salt, etc... It'll work with the proportions from most bread recipes, but lighter is better. Here 's a reference that wor...

The Ukraine Posted: 3 weeks ago by
There is no "The." It is simply Ukraine. Ukrainians make fun of us, much like we make fun of Miss Teen USA for saying "The Iraq." I've heard it in the forum a few times recently, and I hear it around me all the time. My brother's Ukrainian girlfriend informed me of this a few years back. I though it was finally time to let everybody know. Here's a very brief link from an edumacational website. That is all....

I found my camera cord! Posted: 4 weeks ago by
I found the camera cord that has been missing for over a month. So naturally, I have some photos that I've been wanting to share with Plime. The videos will come later :) Let's start off with a bit of minor illegal activity I like to call "refacing". The idea was to "reface" dollar bills and start a blog. So far I have refaced two. I don't think the blog is going to happen. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll302/yoothesecond/2008_0915happy0006a.jpg forumimage('http://i29...

I predict..... a 'game', or not. Posted: 3 weeks ago by
We all think about what might happen based on what already has, but who dares to make a public prediction besides me? You, I hope. Based on current financial events, I PREDICT that in the very near future the credit card companies are going to find more ways to put the screws to those of us owing them a little moola. (and a funny but true my father in law used to say: If you owe someone a little money, you serve them; if you owe them a lot of money, they serve you. VERY true)...

There are two months until the election, an election that will decide the next President of the United States . The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It's time that we all came together, Democrats and Republicans alike. My neighbour died today Posted: 3 weeks ago by
He was feeling great seven weeks ago. He started feeling crappy and lethargic. That eventually turned into a diagnosis of aggressive leukemia. Today he died. Seven weeks - start to finish. I feel really bummed. He was a great guy. The best kind of neighbour you could wish for and an all round good person. Soft spoken and thoughtful, but he drove a large bike, had long hair and tattoos. I really regret not getting to know him more than I did. If you've had a bad day - suck it up. Life's short. Get out t...

Re-hashed TV Posted: 3 weeks ago by
As we all know, Hollywood is out of ideas. They are remaking movies that probably shouldn't be remade. ( Saturday Night Fever , Rocky Horror , Dirty Dancing ) They are turning 80's kids cartoons into multi-million dollar movies. (Transformers, Speed Racer, Scooby Doo)...and other TV Shows to the big screen (Charlies Angels, Get Smart, The A-Team) Recently, they have taken TV shows, polished them up a little, added some modern technology, and are trying to get them back into the public's good TV watch...

Dear American: I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude. I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. Where Babies Come From Posted: 3 weeks ago by
This thread got me thinking: http://www.plime.com/weird/l/77224/1/ When you were little, where did you think babies came from? Or, at least, how would you have explained where babies came from? When my first brother was born, when I was almost 3, I didn't have a clue as to where he came from but I wished he never came. I knew somehow they were found in bellies. I also figured mummies pooped out babies - that's how they were born. When cows have calves it looks like they're being pooped out, so ...

Hurricane Talk: Ike Posted: 1 month ago by
Well, it seems we have another hurricane on our hands. NOAA just shifted their forecast from deep south Texas to the Galveston area. Tracking Map The bad thing about this one is people are a) tired of storms, b) used all their money on the last evacuation or c) don't believe they'll be hit by a big one, so, if authorities do call evacuations (they haven't yet, and it's getting late), people aren't going to leave. We're expected to have tropical storm force winds and potential for flooding....
