My wife has just turned 30, she horse rides, dances, barely stays still and is really active.

She's had a problem with one of her hips for some time now, it's been giving her a lot of pain.

She had an appointment with a surgeon today as they said she may need surgery and he confirmed she does.

She needs 3 pins putting in her hip followed by at least 8 weeks of putting no weight whatsoever on it, then walking with crutches, then physiotherapy after that, then when that's healed properly the surgeon wants to do the same with the other hip, as that one has the same problem, to prevent it getting worse to the point that the other one is.

She's gutted. I know it's not life-threatening but for someone her age and for someone who is so active and loves doing physical activities it's a real blow.

I hate to be negative but right now that's how I feel. Life sucks a bag of d**ks at times.

I'm sorry this is happening in your life and I feel for your wife, this is not the stuff that dreams are made of.

However, look at it from the perspective that having this procedure done will cause discomfort for a period of time to guarantee her a life time of being pain free and be as active as she wants to be without having to worry about her hips.

I hear ya, PMA and everything, no point getting down about it. Unfortunately, the surgeon has also said that as it's a genetic condition that there is no guarentee that it will provide permanent relief or even be successful but if they don't do it it'll only get a lot worse. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it will work though as she's such a cool person and if anyone doesn't deserve to be in pain it's her.

Oh my God, man. I don't know how I would handle it if my younger sister had the same thing happen. If they ever find him, knock him the f**k out for me.

In other news; my sister's getting married in November, and I'm her maid of honor. We went dress shopping today. The first store we went in we had picked out quite the assortment of dresses to try on and just to look at the cuts...
Upon entering the dressing room, the girl who was "assisting us" says to me "That dress isn't going to go over on you because it's not that big. You're not going to fit into it" Now, as with wedding dresses, You slip the dresses on WITHOUT zipping them up, just to see how they look (naturally if you're thin you can zip them up and even clip them behind you) The lady kept insisting that it wouldn't fit me because I was too big. I got her point not only through what she was saying, but also her tone of voice, and I got a bit frustrated and told her I got it, I won't try it on.
However; my mother and sisters got pissed off. They told her to let me try it on, it WOULD fit. I stepped back because well, I don't like being called out like that. I even asked her 'So, I mean what do you do in situations like this, with big women? Do you recommend any stores that would cater to us?' she didn't even answer my question, just said 'I don't know, it's hard.' At that point I just wanted to leave, but my sisters wouldnt let me. -.-
So infront of her, I got into the dress and it fit me just fine (zipper open obviously.) Obviously my mood wasn't the cheeriest so after my younger sister tried some dresses on we left.
I hold nothing against the lady, maybe she had a bad day or a bad experience in the past with big girls.
Thankfully the stores we visited after were very courteous. But damn, that was really embarassing :/
