Counting of clicks doesnt make a users rank change much. Rank seems to come down to who voted for you. I can point to a couple of rank 6's who havnt even posted a topic. But then youve got Bornbad who came top last week, posted loads and is still only rank three.

Rank matters more than your place on the leaderboard.
I trust the users will take care of people who use underhand strategies to self spam the ranks by pruning the wrong kind of content. (No dig to bornbad there)
That is the whole point of the ranking system. Only trusted users will climb the ranks and it is these people who carry the weight when pruning and so on. The site will maintain itself.

The problem is, that if you have a section dedicated to NSFW then, as the site grows, that section will grow very quicky and become very attractive to search engines. When this happens the name Plime will start appearing in search results when people are searching for boob galleries and such. That is what will bring the site down.

I think the solution is to keep up awareness to the wrong kind of content as and when it happens. The good users will listen and get rid as and when it happens. The problem is pushing the site up the search engines in the wrong areas. That attracts people who will think its ok to put anything here.

No porn. Of course not. But a checkbox for NSFW material like Southpark clips, if checked, would keep it from floating upward and automatially MOVE it to the NSFW tab. If anyone sees a NSFW link that isn't so marked, they can edit it, check the box, and it's dealt with. +Bing+ It drops off the main page.

If anyone truly enjoys a ton of NSFW (not porn) links, they can subscribe to the category.

But I identified it in the headline as NSFW and explained in the description why it was NSFW. I think that's sufficient warning, and I don't know of anyone who was offended.

If the policy became "No NSFW links", I would certainly abide by it and not raise a fuss. However, no matter what you do, Both Porn Links and Injokes will pop up (and be popular). My suggestion is to write an exception to the Main Page function. If "NSFW" appears, then by default it cannot make it to the main page, no matter how popular. Also, give higher rated plimers the ability to remove things from the main page but not remove them altogher. (A "not eligible for main page" checkbox.) Maybe even include it on the link submission page. On the other hand though, even if you tuck the NSFW links into a subsection of, say Gossip, it would still end up on the front page. Since they do seem to be popular links, and people want to submit links that will be popular, the front page may end up filled with NSFW links. That will turn some people away, make others uncomfortable, and block access for some at work. Also, how far are you going to let the NSFW links go? Upper body? Full nudity? Hardcore porn? Best to nip it in the bud now. There are plenty of places for people to get their porn fix online. I found that when Fark started adding boobies links, it's traffic skyrocketed. I understand that almost everyone is surfing the net for porn. I want this site to be different though, and for it's traffic to increase based on the quality of the links submitted (and described), especially since rankings move up based on traffic, instead of votes, and those galleries will always get the most traffic.
