Well, the weirdest thing I've eaten was when I went to Irian Jaya to see how the native people lived with a group of students from my old school.
Anyways, the Kamoro people have a local delicacy - the sago grub.

They are eaten live. You bite off the body just under the head, because you don't want it to bite you as you swallow it.
It did not taste like chicken.

It tastes as bad as it looks.
Every Christmas my parents continue the bizarre tradition of cooking this crap. I continue my very sane tradition of not eating it and consuming the Swedish meatballs instead.

No not poo. If you are unfamiliar with the term, it is a basically a horse treat that tastes like crap warmed over, and black licorice. Interesting anyway...

Oh, I have also had
Drunken Shrimp, and Bird's Nest Soup.
