Planet of the Apes

This is the actual costume and head piece that Roddy McDowall wore in the original Planet of the Apes film back in 1968. It was the films 40th anniversary. There is also a picture of the original film poster that has been lacquered to preserve it.




It was also the 40th anniversary of 2001: A Space Odyssey, but you had to pay for photos of the costumes and actors.

waited to post my collection of photos, but i'm having trouble getting them trimmed and shipped all at once, but a conversation with punthe in the platroom encouraged me to post a couple here first ...

... so. i was going to meet up with rowangrey and punthe at wonderfest on saturday. got in contact with punthe via plime PM, swapped numbers. couldnt talk to rowan, though. at the event ... called punthe three times throughout the day, no answer. strangely, i found rowan's table buy sheer dumb luck. then again, she said she'd be selling comic art, and she was the only table selling comic art ... but still!



i don't have one with me with rowan ... i did went up to say hi, but i ran away.

so i took pictures of random people ... caught one guy with a custom backpack, but originally deleted it because it was blurry. then today, i found punthe for the first time in the platroom since wonderfest. we were talking about who we saw, then punthe showed a pic of him with rowangrey, and mentioned he was wearing a yoda packpack ... then it hit me - BLOODY f**k, I SAW PUNTHE AND HAD NO f**kING IDEA! so i immediately restored that pic i deleted.



if i had been able to see yoda man's face, i'm sure i would have recognized the punthebeard, and said something ... BUT I DIDIN'T!

... so that's it. i'll post more stuff i found when i figure that flickr s**t out.

Now this is my most prized possession oot of all of my WonderFest visits. This is an original, that's right not a copy or scan, but an original Tony Soprano sketch done by RG's husband. If you saw it in person you could even smell the fresh ink as if it had just been sketched. The moment I saw it, it had to be mine. I just framed it today and I thought it should be shared, but don't touch it or I'll have my cats puke in your shoes!

this festival looks awesome, maybe I'll go next year...
